Torrington’s latest exhibition explores the depth of loneliness & emptiness and its relation to inanimate objects. Combining her refined artistic sensibilities, powerful, razor-sharp fine art techniques and intensity of concept this exhibition is filled with a dark reluctance and a unique haunting grace.

Reminiscent of Beardsley’s inks, Torrington takes a measure of cult pop-horror and vamps it into a dark collection of special treasures.
Like looking in a long lost dead grandmas jewellery box and finding the bones of small birds, the intellectual warmth and depth of feeling of this show pushes you to question your belief in the closeness of material objects and your own personal distance to others. Our memories are defined by the collections of objects that make up our lives. These objects are so ingrained in the human psyche that they have become symbols of the domestic ideal.
Never before has a visual art opened so wide, such a fragile chasm.
